I'm looking to build my first AR Pistol 5.56.  This will be a budget build and just something to play around with.  I already have the stripped lower & lpk.  Thinking of going with a Radical Firearms Complete Upper (minus BCG & charging handle) with Seekins MCSR Keymod Upper.  I want to use the Sig Arms Brace but don't know too much about them.  Is there a kit that comes with the brace, buffer, buffer tube, etc...?  Is there a way to lock the brace in position?  Any advice would be great.  Thanks...

I've -heard- a bit of griping about Radical Arms stuff on here. I wouldn't buy their stuff, based on their lower success rate (cause by cutting corners to keep costs low).

If it's a budget build of economy grade parts, it might be more beneficial for you to build the entire thing (upper and lower, to gain the experience/knowledge/tooling).

A better way for you to save costs or end up with a better weapon would be to skip the Sig brace + doodads and put that money into the actual functioning components

My Radical upper seems fine for the money. I had one double feed in my first 100 rounds. The rail is a little heavy, but the fit and finish is nice. Can't beat it for price I paid.

Building the upper is something I'd be interested in doing as well. I've never done it before but I can learn. Can you guys recommend some good parts to use please? Must be 10.5" barrel and a 10" lightweight rail.

I helped a few friends put together 3 AR pistols. I un wrapped them, a little lube, boresnake, some MP7 and I took 3 AR piustols to the range. Put 60 rounds through each one, flawless. For the money they seem great. Hard to catch the PSA 10.5 in stock, so lots of friends are ordering these.

Radical Firearms caugt my attention because of the great pricing. I've noticed a few vendors are actually selling their uppers so thought they would be worth checking out. Has anyone had any experience with Hardened Arms?

I used a 10.5 Rainier Select barrel. They're stainless and a good value I think. I had zero issues pertaining to the barrel when I did my build. It was dimpled to make the gas block easier to line up and install, groups tight even with human error and US milsurp type ammo.

That said, it may cost more than you were looking to spend. Something that would have saved me during that build would've been to write down my intent for that weapon/build, and comparing that to each part I was looking to buy. It was supposed to be a budget cheapo to use up spare parts and to practice building.

That said, no regrets. I ended up with a great go-to weapon that I'll probably have for a long time.
