Ok,
So I'm in the home stretch now with my AR pistol build.  Since it's a 7.5" barrel, I figured some sort of hand stop would be nice.  I was kind of digging the Strike Industries Cobra.  Any other recommendations for a good hand stop?

Before anyone else comes in here, it is completely LEGAL to mount an AFG on a pistol.

I've heard of people using extended GLOCK magazine floor plates as hand stops. They screw directly to the FF tube.

+1 for AFG. I like mine on my MK18.

I use an AFG on the bottom of several carbines. On the top of short rail carbines that have hand-burney front sight bases, I may use an IWC hand stop or a little nub I cobbled together from RTV sealant and rail ladders.

I've been using LaRue Handstops with LaRue index clips. They work exactly as intended. If you have a hard time spending your money on authentic LaRue clips & such ... there are clone clips and handstop sets. Just saying ... they exist.

PTK + VTS = nice firm grip on the front of the weapon... next best thing to a vertical grip.

I'm using the SI Cobra and like it a lot. However, if you're looking for a massive safety margin, check these out:

I second this! This is what I'm running too. Make sure you put that VTS on the side nuzzled up into your thumb area and you can be extremely aggressive with your gun. Muzzle manipulation and sight acquisition is extremely quick.

I used one of these.

If you have a keymod handguard, this works very well. It fits flush to the handguard and adds very little to the diameter.

Another vote for the very common Magpul. I didn't think I'd like it, but tried it anyway. I overlap past the front stop with the forefinger. Heal of the wrist goes perfectly braced against the side of larger rr stop. Obligatory gratuitous pic.

Yeah I really love mine.  I can hold my pistol with it and put it to my shoulder without issue.  I put the stops on both sides to keep my ambi thing going.

The AFG2 also works great on my MK18 Pistol.

Since this picture, I've relocated it to forward most position & moved the light to the side.
