Blowout I fixed it for you. Really a must do kinda thing. Quoted:
Quoted: You need to move the EOTech forward and put the flip up rear sight at the rear most picatinny slot to have the longest sight radius. Blowout I fixed it for you. Really a must do kinda thing. It is no such thing. They're backup sights. Put them where you like - albeit he may cook his rear over the gas tube. |

I use mine quite a bit and they certainly work best as far apart as possible. Quoted:

Lets be honest the chances of him ever shooting through the backup sights is probably pretty small. I don't even bother putting them on guns anymore. I use mine quite a bit and they certainly work best as far apart as possible. This. And those rail covers look like UTG, |

Those sight placements are little embarrassing. First off, the Eotech is designed to be run both eyes open. If you have the unit that close, you end up looking through a tunnel and a significant portion of your peripheral vision is blocked. You don't want to shoot through a tunnel on a zero power scope (well it is done but not the best in CQB). Loosing your periphery in urban settings is not a good thing.
Second, a peep sight is just that. You peep through it as you would peeping through the proverbial keyhole. You can't peep through a keyhole at a few inches away. That setup may work if you found an open rear sight but I'm not sure what effect looking at both sights through a holograph would do. Never thought about it (because it's not preferred in the first place). |

Take your EOTech. Turn the power off. Does the hologram go away? This site's slavish devotion to fashion never ceases to amaze me.

I prefer the eotech where it is. I shot just fine with the Back Up sights I shot a 4 inch group a 200m and a 2.5 inch group at 100 with them. Either way back up sight in front or back of eotech you are looking through the eotech. I have many years shooting this type of platform and it boils down to what works for the shooter not what is kool. |
