I am going to build a 300 BKOT pistol unsupressed.
My current build in progress is a 5.56 16" middy. The handguard I eventually want to have for the 5.56 wont be released until this summer. I want to get a 9" free float to use on the 5.56 until this pernament one is released and then use the 9" when I build the 300 BKOT pistol. So what minimum barrel length do I need if using a 9" handguard. Either going to use a standard flash hider or something like a KAK slim line flash can (poor mans supressor). I was thinking about 8.2 to 8.5 inches but will defer to you guys who know alot more than I. Thanks for all responses. JBL |

Batman:
Your 8" barrel, when you say slightly recessed, is that to the end of the barrel or the flash hider/muzzle break. What type of muzzle device. I was looking over the pic thread but most dont list their handguard/barrel specs. I would think you want the barrel end past the face opening of the handguard or at least the openings of the muzzle device. Not going to be starting the 300BKOT build til this summer so plenty of time to research. Thanks JBL |
