This is my first AR build. Very exited I got her running so I had to come post. Will get pics up as soon as I get to a computer. (Cant post pics off my phone)
Just completed it yesterday, Drilled the gas hole on barrel and bent, cut and installed gas tube. Was all I had left. Went and shot it to find a single shot pistol  but went home and made a few adjustments to the gas block position and ran out to try it today and heard the sweet pop of one after another as fast as I could work the trigger! Shot 250 rounds of different ammo through it and worked with em all. Tula ammo 55g Fmj, Remington 60g sp and a hand load that has always been tried and true for me, 24.7g BLC-II and a 53g BTHP.
ATI Omni Poly Stripped Lower Peirce Grips 1911 grip adapter, Peirce Finger Groove Insert, Hogue 1911 palm swell grips Pro Mag Ambi sling adapter. Lugs milled off and 550 wrapped tube. Carbine buffer and spring. Spring cut down slightly. DPMS Lower Internals Home trigger job - Hammer Bobbed, springs cut and bent, Everything polished. Came out Awesome! Have one 30rnd AR-Stoner Mag. On Order Are two AR-Stoner 40 rounders and a Mag Coupler Blackhawk Single Point Sling DPMS Upper Custom Cut 7" Barrel A2 Birdcage Hogue carbine length free float tube YHM Gas Block Carbine length Gas tube Custom cut and bent. Hope your Omni does better then mine, it turned into a 2 piece lower on the 3rd mag :( Yes me to. I've heard horror stories about poly lowers but also heard good ones. My next one will be an aluminum one for sure. I just wanted to try it out and it was also a great deal. Got this lower for about 60 bucks..30 for lower and 30 for transfer fee. |

Nice build.... But does the complete lower, vise, vise blocks and barrel wrench fit in the plastic ammo box too? Laptop case; lower/upper separated and the both intact  And if I happen to see someone carrying a tennis racket case... I am just shooting them because.... |
