So I built my 7.5" Rainier arms ultra match barrel with seekins 9" bar rail. Everything went together great with the exception of the Noveske KX3 flash suppressor. The instructions say to hand tight and then wrench it till the lettering is right side up on the left side of the weapon.

I've tighten the hell out of this thing and it is positioned with the pig on top (LOL). Has anyone had this issue and is this a problem?

Are you using a peel or crush washer?

If your trying to do it without a washer then you won't get it lined up like it says.

Well unless of course you can chuck the barrel up in a lathe and cut the threads just right.

That washer that comes with the KX3 is a standard crush washer.  the more you turn, the more it compresses.  In a long story short, if you keep turning the washer will compress then stop because its flatten.  You probably have to get another one.  when you install any muzzle device, be sure to put the smallest side of the washer towards the barrel and hand screw the device on until it stops.  once it stops all you need to do is turn enough where the muzzle device is aligned.

Thanks. I'm gonna put it in the vise and crank on it some more. Is it ok to leave the barrel  assembled to the upper while cranking on it? Sorry for all the quuestions. I've built a ton of lowers but this was my first upper build. Putting in the gas block and gas tube pins almost drove me batshit crazy!

After the hand tightening a crush washer will turn about 1.25 more revolutions while crushing. After that it is completely crushed and cranking on it more will yield nothing.

Has it move from the initial hand tight position?

Per the instructions that should have come with it:

Place the crush washer small end first on the barrel threads. (Never reuse the crush washer)
Hand tighten the KX3 until it stops against the crush washer.
Using a 3/4" wrench, tighten a minimum of approximately 1/4 turn.
Continue to tighten until the writing is facing up on the left side, not to exceed a total of 1 and 1/4 turns from hand tight.

Sounds like you're gonna need a new crush washer.

I had to order a six pack of shims to get mine to align properly...$6 at Brownells.

Very little. I can't get it to go anymore. It would take another 1-1/4 turns to line up as instructed.

If it's on the top now and you want it on the side it will only take left side it will only take 1/4 of a turn, 1 turn= 1 revolution.
Also to initialize the crushing from the new state will take a bit more torque, once it starts it will go easier. Think of crushing a beer can from the top down. It's hard to start but once it crushes jut a bit  it goes flat very easy.

Don't over think it, it's not rocket surgery.
