2-2:30 ejection could indicate that it's overgassed. As an experiment, you might consider shooting some Wolf. If ejection is closer to 3-5 o'clock, then that would be a good indication of overgassing. If that's the case, you may need to slow things down with either a heavier carrier or heavier buffer. I'm currently running a HSS Tungsten Buffer and Wolff extra power spring - that did the trick (see heavybuffers.com for this setup). Initially, I was running a T2 but it didn't seem heavy enough based on the ejection angle.
What kind of carrier are you running? Nice looking setup! |

Its a complete Noveske N4 upper, so whoever they use for carriers. I've been hearing stories about the T2 buffer now, I hate to spend $30 on a new buffer but this thing needs to run. Could that also be causing the bolt to lock back? If it ever stops raining I'm going to check with a different Pmag, can't imagine it would be bad already but you never know. |
| H2 or T2 (either) is not going to solve your bolt hold problem but most likely will make it run better overall. I consider it a must on any short barrel/gas system. As I mentioned before, try removing the BAD and see what happens. If that doesn't do it try another mag. |
| Looks like the weather will be dry after work tomorrow but still muddy so I'm going to test different mags, ammo and without the BAD. I did find a thread about the same bolt issue and it looks like they tried a stiffer spring on the bolt relase, I might give this a try too after I test this other stuff out. |

Would not matter if it's happening midway through the magazine, only the last round would it matter. You need to take a systematic approach to solving this problem. Don't do all three things at one time. Try another mag first, then the ammo, then the lever. Doing all three at the same time will not help you solve the mystery without undoing it.
The mag I used is on the left, the follower doesn't come all the way up like the rest of the Pmags I have. I bet this was my bolt issue http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s217/bagged_xb/2011-04-13_23-18-07_583.jpg |
