would it be ok to screw a sling mount to the rear of your buffer tube, i know they are ok on the front of the buffer tube? has this ever been addressed ? permanently attaching one to the rear would prevent a stock from being mounted! what say you?

Why not....did it to an uzi pistol so that a folder could not be attached

edit> did it to to the tail end of an uzi(no buffer tube)

Easier just to unscrew the buffer tube and swap out your end plate for this one:

Have this one (middle) on all my AR-15s including my AR-15 pistol.

Spikes Tactical sells them!

Get a single point sling too.

Have this setup:

As long as you are not running around, the weight of the carbine will hold done.  Great for the range.

It can be done, someone had posted pictures of a sling stud that was threaded into the end of the tube.  Personally I'd go with the Noveske or Magpuls end plates myself.
