spikes has there 10.5 inch .223 upper on sale for $635 and seems like a quality part. do you think i could buildoneor pieceone together for cheaper?
what about model 1 sales or another company?

you could go a little cheaper but all of spikes stuff I have handled has been very nice and worth the value

Piecing one together might save you a few $ but it would be a small amount, roughly $20-$30. It wouldn't be CHF or Melonite coated either. Spikes is good to go. I'd get it from them.

cool thanks i really dolove spikes stuff but model 1 has some cheap kits that come with everything minus lower.

Model 1 is not in the same class as Spikes. The M1 uppers run fine but you are missing out on some features that Spikes will come with.
