Just wondering if these are quality enough to stand up to some abuse, being that the MSRP is around $650.  I want a pistol AR, it is really only a novelty, but I'm not sure about how much to spend to get a quailty product.  Anyone have any experience with one of these?

Also, what length buffer would you recommend? And what are the restrictions with a stock, or something on the end to make it somewhat comfortable to sholder (with the longer buffers at least)?

Thanks

If you mean the Kel-Tec PLR-16 then yes I've had one for a few months now and I like it fine so far. Bought it new for $500 from my local gun shop and it's been as accurate and reliable as my Rock River AR-15. The Kel Tec Owners Group (KTOG) forum has some good info. From what I read a lot of Kel Tec pistols really benefit from a fluff-n-buff but the PLRs don't seen to need this, mine didn't. It's a piston setup so no buffer tube, although the polymer receiver and steel barrel does make for a nose heavy setup but overall weight is closer to a Bushy carbon 15. There are only a handfull of accessories out there, most of them are Kel Tec although one member of KTOG makes an awesome cnc'd aluminum forend grip with bottom & side rails. That's what I run on mine. The Kel Tec accessory forend grip is polymer and one person fastfired 100 rounds thru his PLR-16 and noted that his forend seemed to be melting, although he also noted that the receiver was not unusually hot so no other part of the gun was in jeopardy. Also they don't like steel cased ammo, moreso that ARs from what I read. For the money it's a great gun, takes standard AR mags, and it goes with me to the range everytime. The stock rear site is too wide to be accurate, some have used the stock Kel Tec peep site from their SU-16 rifle with good results, I use a red dot and the flat top is as long as my flat top AR so there's room for stuff up top. The barrel has standard threads for a comp or supressor (I used my Levang Linear comp) and comes with a metal threaded cap to cover them. Don't confuse the PLR-16 which is .223 with the PLR-22 which is .22LR. I ran into more than one dealer who pulled out a PLR-22 when I asked for a PLR-16. There's no conversion from .22LR to .223, and the PLR-22 is about $100 cheaper.
