Has anyone done this? I have a 7.5" upper 1/9 that I would like to shoot 22 lr in sometimes.
Seems like the accuracy is so so in rifles,I wonder if it is feasible to shoot cans @ 40~50 yds. Thanks

I replied in your other thread.  It's absolutely possible and much fun.

Yes. The 30-40 grain bullets won't be quit as accurate. But still very good. Ask the coon I nailed in the face @70 yards at night. All I could see was his two eyes lit up and aimed right between them. The big advantage of a pistol with a 1-9 or 1-7 twist it will shoot the heavier/60 grain bullets more accurate than the 1-12 or 1-14 twist on most dedicated uppers.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a125/Idge0/terrorist.gif

Most kits in most host guns can be minute-of-coke can accurate, regardless of the type of ammo used.

My 1 in 9 twist DPMS carbine w/ a ciener drop in kit is minute-of-squirrel accurate w/ MiniMags.  My retro 1 in 12 twist barrel w/ the drop in kit is minute-of-shotgun shell accurate.  Both of these is with iron sights - with a cheap scope on the gun, the freakishly accurate.

Now I'm just waiting until next week to see what kind of accuracy I would get out of my newest build - a dedicated .22lr upper in the correct 1 in 16 twist.
