I purchased a KX3 here on the EE.  When I installed it it kept timing at 2 and 8 o clock.  I called Noveske for a washer and when I got it, it now times at 3 and 9 BUT it's upside down.  Any advise for those of you who have one?

ETA: The pig is upside down hand tightened.  I am using a DD lite rail and can't get a wrench to tighten the KX3 because it doesn't fit  through the rail. Basically I have to install the KX3 with the rail on. Shouldn't it time correctly even when hand tightened?

If you cant get a wrench in there, try a strap wrench.  I'm no expert but nothing on any weapon should ever be just hand tightened.

The washer that it comes with is a crush washer.  That means you tighten "crush", untighten, tighten "crush", untighten, tighten "crush".  You keep doing that until that washer is crushed to your index.  The KX3 is recommended 30lb torque.  In your case, remove the hand guard, proceed with  crush indexing the KX3, remove the KX3, replace hand guard, install properly indexed KX3 with red loctite and tighten the best you can.

this will probably sound dumb to everyone

but i keep my kfh in place hand tightened with a split washer

it has never budged and allows easy removal and replacement for cleaning

The crush washer supplied with the KX3 will allow greater than 360 degrees of compression so you'll have to elaborate.

I couldn't get mine to compress that much. I didn't want to over torque it. About 3/4 turn was as close as I could get. I ended up using a peel washer to index it right.

This worked...Thanks for the help!!!!  Pain in the ass, but it worked!  Might have to get a different rail....screwing and unscrewing 6 bolts ....not fun whatsoever! Any suggestions on what rail has a wide enough inner diameter to accomodate a KX3?

Is indexing actually required or are you just trying to get your logos lined up how you want them?

There's is no indexing necessary with the KX3.  Got to have a pretty piggy though.
