For 10.25" pistol: chrome, non chrome, or doesn't matter?

Just bought a non-lined ER Shaw @ Model 1 Sales and the guy there says "no longer barrel life with chrome, doesn't matter."

Harder to clean and less corrosion resistance.

Yes I agree.  Not too worried though as a pistol/short barrel is easier to clean and maintain.  I'm thinking in terms of extraction/jamming problems without the chrome chamber.

Ah...I don't think that would be a problem under normal operation.

If you mistreated it and didn't clean it or allowed moisture to stay and cause problems, yeah.

IMHO, if it isn't stainless it gets chrome.

Whats your impression of the overall quality of the M1 upper?

Only bought the barrel and gas block from Model 1.  The barrel is heavy contour, fit like a glove in the Bushy receiver with M4 cuts, finished well, and gas block fits well.  Delivery was fast.  I am pleased so far.  I haven't shot it yet and it will be interesting to see if the gas block stays put with the 3 set screws or if I'll have to drill some dimples in the barrel.
