I am going to turn my bushy pistol into an AOW. How the heck does someone engrave a carbon15 lower? Thanks... |

After looking on their website at their carbon guns, It looks like the pistol extension should be readily replaceable with whatever stock you would want to put on it. I don't see why a standard AR stock would not work on it. bushmaster carbon line |
SBR tax is $200. AOW tax is $5
If you SBR a AR15 pistol, you can put a stock on it and it becomes an SBR rifle, which you just paid for and registered. In which case you would take the pistol buffer tube stock thing off and put a real one on. |
That is to transfer an existing weapon. The tax to make either one is $200. If you want an AOW, you should try and find a local FFL/SOT who can register it as an AOW for you and then transfer it to you for the $5 tax stamp. The SOT allows them to register NFA weapons tax-free so it avoids the $200 making tax and then they can transfer it to you with a $5 stamp. As long as they charge you less than $195 for this service you come out ahead. |
