Finally got time and assembled the package. I am extremely happy with the outcome. It's surprisingly lightweight (I guess due to the fluted barrel and titanium muzzle brake). I need help with the following questions:
1. I am using the DPMS lpk and the pivot pin appears to be a little short (refer to the pictures). Will this affects function and need to be replaced? The lower is Aero Precision M5. 2. I have an extra scope/mount combo (attached to the rifle in one of the picture), what's the preferred scope's high? Thanks for reading this post. https://imgur.com/a/chAsU Yg |
| It seems a short pivot pin is common with the 308 lowers- they are a little thicker so the AR pin doesn't fit flush. As long as the pin is grabbing the far side enough to keep everything in place it should be fine for most use. If its something you want to fix, IIRC Aero sells a longer pin for about $8 on their store site. Getting the detent and spring compressed so you can rotate the pin and pull it out will be tedious- try using a tiny eyeglass screwdriver or dental pick to get in there to compress it. Don't forget to watch the spring and detent fly across the room when you do... better order extras with the pin... |
