I picked one of these up a while back and just got the 15 inch handrail installed. Really made it feel more balanced and slightly lighter.

Here is my question. What would you guys suggest for a new muzzle device? I know about the Lantecs and the VG6's. Any other recommendations out there?

I enjoyed the 7.62x51 golf ball launcher. But, I can only find them for the saiga 12 gauge or the 5.56 right now.

I like the Brakeout 2.  Just wish it came in 3/4x24.

I have a VG6 on a WW-SRC-308 and am very happy with it.

I can't vouch for the methodology (it's .223, but I would assume results with same design suppressors would be fairly applicable with like caliber), but as a pure comparison, this isn't a bad video to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sBjQjC89uA Up until quite recently the M4-72 seemed to dominate in terms of performance.

I purchased an M4-72 (https://precisionarmament.com/product/m4-72-tactical-compensator/), but apparently the Titan (http://www.larue.com/sjc-titan-compensator-308) is better by a bit. Up to this point I've been using a linear comp.

At first I didn't think the rifle had much recoil, but as my 150gr loads start to reach maximum, recoil starts to get surprisingly stiff. I'm going to leave the M4-72 hand tight, and shoot it back to back against the linear comp.

I'm also looking at this: http://www.indiancreekdesigninc.com/shop-online/bfd-for-58-24-or-14mm-mount for hunting and shooting around others, so that I don't need to remove the M4-72 to tame some of the effects of the brake. Same idea with this one http://atmc.us/blast-mate.html except they have one that can be setup for golf balls along with keeping the brake effects in check.

Precision Armament's M4-72 Severe Duty Compensator

thetruthaboutguns.com had tested this against 90+ other 308 compensators.

Love my G2! Also went with the 15" rail. Tried several devices, but best for me is this one Seekins Precision ATC Muzzle Brake .308/7.62 Compensator. It uses a knurled nut for indexing that makes it easy to take off/on for a good cleaning. Makes the already soft recoil even better. Regards

Lot of opinion on the topic. Here is a decent chart, at least of those tested:

+1 I had one of Precision Armaments M-41 Severe Duty brakes on a Remington 700 R5 and it worked great.

I would also suggest looking at a couple of new Comp/FS hybrids on the market in 30 caliber. The Wilson Q comp and the SLR Rifleworks hybrid Synergy Comp. I just got both in. the Wilson Q Comp is going to replace the A2 FH on my Rock River LAR 8 and the .300 caliber SLR Synergy Comp is going on my 16" 300 Blackout build. The fab quality on both is excellent, but I don't yet have any field experience to report.
