I know sig 716's aren't an arfcom favorite but mine has been awesome.  Shot a deer @ 115 yards running away at 10 o'clock with Leupold 3x9 vxr patrol on 3x with hornady 150g American whitetail.  I was in an old ladder stand dodging branches and made a 1 shot clean kill.  This rifle has been accurate at the range and has never failed to feed or extract.  Hunting with my son was a great day and just wanted to show some love for a  Rodney Dangerfield of rifles.

I have one too that has been flawless. Very accurate and no issues with suppressor.
Always wondered why they got no love. Great rifle.

Same here my FDE 716 has operated flawlessly and 5 shoot 100 yard groups with 168 Fgmm or tailored hand loads with 168 SMK's average just under one moa when I changed the stock trigger (to heavy and gritty) for a Geissele SSA-E trigger.

Never had a problem. I'm sure the main reason it's not a "favorite" is the difficulty in trying to change or modify the platform. Barrels are not a readily available item if you want to change it up. I'm happy with mine.

And that's what I managed @ 200 yards in a head on driving rain. Must have been lucky. Lol. The small extra holes are from a 5.56.
Edit: I do believe that hole below the 5 shot group was from zeroing in.

I did replace the stock trigger with an SSA-E.  Original was a little gritty, hadn't fired enough rounds to really break it in.  Trigger swap was quick and painless.  It came with nice backup sights and a decent sling with quick disconnects.

Given the mission for this rifle, I don't really see additional mods.  Except maybe a can (for my hearing of course).

I have only shot out to 200 yards (range limit) but it has shot nice groups with various ammo and ringing steel offhand is very repeatable.

150 g American whitetail caused substantial damage.  Good tracking skills not required.  Next up will be wild hogs.

I didn't realize these didn't get any love.  They're really nice, well priced piston gun.

I bought mine, and during the 10 day waiting period i found tons of bad reviews. I was scared cause ive never had a bad gun. Shes been flawless and more accurate than I. Threw the geissele sd-e in and im happy.

That's awesome! I forgot to mention I also put a Geissele SSA-E in mine. And, that 5 shot group was with 150 grain American Whitetail also. I've never had a fail to feed or fire. Nor any other malfunction.

The one I had was great. It was just overly heavy for what it was. Even had ADCO reprofile the barrel, and still weighed too much for my uses for it.

It was also one of the few adjustable gas piston guns that really did work suppressed.

If you're referring to the pic above, it looks to be a SilencerCo Omega.

I will need to test this. I just have it zeroed at 100yds with a can. Its too cold outside right now 8deg.
Once it warms up, I will give it a try.
