Looking to upgrade the trigger on my DPMS Oracle 308. DPMS is currently selling the Geissele G2S on their website for $109 as contract over runs. But in the description they state "not intended for use in DPMS 308/7.62 platform rifles." What gives? I've read countless posts about guys using Geissele triggers in their LR308's.
I emailed DPMS and got this response, "The LR-308 accepts AR-15 fire control groups with exception. The Gll accepts all AR fire control groups." Drr, wat? Can anyone elaborate on this? Am I limited in what will work in my LR-308 platform? If there are compatibility issues, which brands are known as GTG? What should I avoid? ETA: I just received a response to my follow up question with DPMS. They state "in this case the hammer is too tall." |

I am pretty sure it is all standard AR trigger parts That's what I thought too but apparently some need to be modified to fit the LR-308. Geissele states their triggers need mods and they supply a diagram outlining the changes. My question is, what else will or won't work without mods? |
| Fwiw, i intslled a larue mbt trigger in my remington r25 (made by dpms, same as lr308). Then used my old r25 trigger to replace a mil spec trigger in a standard 5.56 lower that was pretty rough..... zero fitment issues in either rifle. I did the swap at the beginning of summer, both rifles have been running good since. Couldn't be happier with the MBT if its on your list of considerations. |

Can anyone confirm the r25 is dimensionally the same as the LR308 or if the MBT will work in the lr308? I contacted both companies. DPMS told me to ask Larue. Larue told me to ask DPMS. |

+1 on MBT, I have one in a Bushmaster orc308 (dpms) working perfectly for 500 rounds. I also took the lr308 trigger and used it in an ar15 without issue. Good to hear. I may just have to go with the MBT. Seems like the mil spec triggers are totally interchangeable but the aftermarket ones are not a guarantee. |

I put RRA 2 stage match triggers in my LRs, both guns needed me to remove about .030 off the corner of the hammer. They worked great. Interesting. I had a RRA NM trigger in my LR308 for a long time, zero modification required. I don't have it anymore though. |
