I got a new DPMS GII Recon in .308 yesterday.

I took it to the range, lubed it, loaded five rounds into it, fired 5 shots and one of the two ejectors fell out !

Since I had read that this carbine was designed to keep functioning with one ejector I fired five more rounds.  It continued to function.

Last night when I got home from work last night I also noticed that the pin holding the dust cover door on had moved and this prevented the dust cover door from closing.

The carbine is getting shipped to a warranty center tomorrow.

Has anyone else had quality control issues with a DPMS product lately ?

I could swear someone had an issue a year or two back with the ejector pin coming out while firing, but I can't find it.

SLR stated they broke the ejectors and ejector retaining pin, I believe that is full auto use though https://www.ar15.com/archive/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=684661

Any idea if you have a new bolt or older? Not having luck finding a picture of both designs, this is the earlier design: http://dpms-gii.com/assets/img/content/[email protected]

The later versions all seem to have marks behind the lugs where some milling operation works on the slots between the lugs. Also has a smaller diameter firing pin tunnel. Most of us who have the early style bolt have quite a bit of primer flow.

To my knowledge, there is no "rollup" as to what was changed on the two bolt designs. If there were issues with the ejectors/pin, perhaps that was a change as well.

Ejection port cover issue you describe I've not heard of before.

My G2 Recon  has been so good that is my favorite of all the semi 308s I've owned. Accurate and flawless in over 700 rds now. Good to see a fast response from DPMS as i believe that they have a winner with the G2. To bad about the problem, but at least it continued to function. Regards

Only issue with my G2 is the ejection port cover doesn't like to open unless a cartridge is loading or ejecting. Not going to send it in and get stiffed for shipping like my last DPMS .308 issue.
