Have built several AR15s in 300BLK and 6.8 but haven't tackled the large frame yet. AIming to build a light weight 11-13" SBR starting with the 2A Armament Xathos receiver set. Need someone to look over my shopping list and let me know if I'm getting anything that will cause compatibility issues down the road. Advice is appreciated. I haven't settled on a barrel source or handguard yet, so open to suggestions.

Only thing that sticks out is the MLGS gas tube before you have your barrel, unless you're certain you will get a MLGS barrel. I think armalite is using a custom gas tube length on their pistols. Custom buffer system as well. Wouldn't share much info on it, and i haven't seen one in person yet. But you might want to think about a custom blank, and a intermediate gas system. That's what the guys who got their shorty 308s did to run reliably. Not many run great with MLG or CLG on these short barrels. Much can be overcome with the adj block, but not all. Still a good idea. Having the lightweight bcg will help a bit. Gonna take alot of fine tuning, but should be fun. ETA: i know I'm being picky, but get a better castle nut. They're cheap, i just don't like anything branded Anderson. |
