I have a very unique 357 magnum barrel.   Everything is working great.

I'm looking at ballistic tables and think that I would like to SBR the upper.  I have several registered lowers that I can put it on.   No issues with that.

However since it's a one off barrel, where would you have it sent?   I'd like to get it shortened, rethreaded, gas port opened up (I'm using an adjustable gas block) slightly and recrowned (of course).

Where would send it?   If I need another barrel, it'll take months and more dollars.

Edit.  I would also like the feed ramps opened up on the extension and on the upper receiver.   Full metal jackets feed great.  Sometimes the lead tipped hang up.

.357?  I'm guessing either Macon Armory or Tromix made it?  I'd send it back to them, or if that's not an option I'd send it to Adco.

I don't know who made the barrel (actually turned it and all).  The builder of the upper isn't interested in SBR projects.   I'm not opposed to buying another barrel if it's not too much more.

Contact the ones I mentioned then.  Tromix is usually pretty busy, so they probably won't do it.  Either Macon Armory or Adco would be probably be willing to do it.

Perfect.   Will do.   I also contacted Jim Pixley, but I'm not sure if he likes the AR platform to work on.

Paladin Machine Shop Service in Kershaw SC is the man you want.  Quick turn around, quality second to none, and dirt cheap prices.  You have to strip your barrel and send it to him but he will do anything you want so long as it's safe.  He has no web page, does not need the extra work, but he can be reached at [email protected].
He has about as much experience on AR wildcats as anyone outside of TROMIX.  I do not know if he will modify the BE though but ask him anyway. All he can do is say no.
