Ok a little back story. I purchased a used DPMS LR308 and brought it to the range to test it out. The bolt kept jamming so I took it to a gunsmith and found that the previous owner had installed the wrong size buffer when they replaced the stock. They replaced the buffer and shot it and found that it cycles fine now.
Brought it to the range yesterday only to find out that it will not pick up cartridges from my magazines. It starts to push the shell forward and then it gets jammed under the bolt. I was loading only one shell into the clip and under inspection found the the bolt was scratchin the magazine as it was coming forward. They are DPMS brand magazines so I figure that they are not the problem. I am assuming that this is a problem with the bolt? When I manually load one shell into the chamber it fires fine. Any thoughts? |

Anything else appear to be non-stock? If the buffer was wrong, the buffer spring may be wrong, too. Not saying that would cause your issues, but something to check. I had a DPMS 308 AP4 for a while, it ran like a top. Ran fine with DPMS steel mags, too. Give us some pictures. Is the bolt OEM or some replacement? -Stooxie |

If you're getting bolt over base malf's, that's usually short stroking, and sometimes too fast of a cyclic rate.
I need to know what gas system length you have, barrel length, type of gas block, etc. Pics of rifle would help. I would also suggest becoming familiar with the different types of malfunctions, how to describe them, hot to diagnose them, and trouble-shoot them. |

Might still have the rifle spring. |
