| I own a Patriot Ordinance Factory 308 rifle and I wanted to get a trigger with less poundage of pull. I was looking at getting Geissele. If there are any other opinions or you agree, send a link to the specific trigger. |
| Don't the POF rifles use their own drop-in 4.5 pound trigger assembly? I have a P415 lower with that standard trigger, and I thought it was pretty darned crisp and smooth. Obviously there is a lot of preference in a case like this, but I'm not sure AR rifles should have the ultra light triggers I've had in a couple of bolt rifles. I have two AR10's with that nice, smooth, 2-stage trigger that comes standard in their rifles, and I'd guess it's about the same pull and break as the POF trigger. I haven't measured my AR's with a trigger pull tool. |

I like the Geissle. I use them in all my precision rifles. You might also look the JP Rifles trigger. I installed it on my POF P308 with a 4 lbs spring. I feel like the lock and reset time is faster/shorter.

| Geissele makes some fantastic triggers. You won't regret the purchase. And I'm not sure where the comment about not setting off NATO primers came from. I know Geissele triggers are already in use by some of our own. Personally, I've never had a fail to fire due to a soft strike. |

I have direct experience and feedback from other 3 gun shooters about the issue. I personally have had a Timney "308" trigger not reliably set off mil surp primers. Others that run JP triggers use the heavier red springs.
If you reload and choose your primers, you will be OK. If you have a pile of mil-surp from different corners of the world, you could run into issues with some ammo. Mick Quoted:

I have four AR type rifles- a Wilson, a SIG 516, a SIG 716, and a Ruger 762. I have Geisellies in all of them. The 762 rifles shoot nothing but military ammo and I've never had a light strike or a failure to fire.
Both of these 762s have over 2000 rounds through them. I would be interested in reading anything from a reputable source related to this happening with any of Bill's products. |
