looking to do a 308 build, ill probably buy an assembled upper, (im aware that voids the classification of a 'build') my question lies in the buffer extension. i have a few extra 556 mil spec buffer tubes laying around, can i use one of them?
ive heard people say yes, i've seen people say no. is it a matter of what spring or buffer you use.. or are the dimensions of the tubes incompatible? |

Yes, you can use the AR15 tubes, as the original KAC SR25K was built using a Mil-spec Colt stock.
DPMS basically copied that, but with cheaper components when they introduced the AP4. The buffers are very short, but with a stronger and longer recoil spring than an AR15 carbine. |
