I am considering jumping into the 308 game and came across a LGS that has a used Armalite B model with 3 mags and case for $995.00. All of my (limited) knowledge is on the AR-15 platform so I've been doing my research and trying to catch up. The gun looks brand new and I was told it has only had about 20 rounds through it before the guy lost his job and had to sell it.
From what I understand the B model uses the proprietary steel mags and isn't compatible with the more common P-Mag type. My research says this is a good to fair deal but I thought I would ask people with far more knowledge. |

Good to fair? I'd jump on that deal! I wouldn't worry about the magazine situation. You can get the gen 2 magazines for $26.xx in 5-, 10-, and 20- rounds. The 25-round magazines tends to be about $10 more. Yeah, that's a little more expensive than PMags, but not enough to really matter.
