| Has anyone here had their CMMG Mk3 heavy taper barrel contoured? If so, which profile did you pick? Medium, Light, Other? The MK3 is a great gun but a bit on the heavy side for general SHTF non-bipod use. |

I hear the medium contour that they offer is lighter, but unnoticeably. Mostly because the 308 platform is just heavy in general compared to what most are used to (5.56, 300, 762x39, 6.8)
I have an MK3 with the 18" barrel. I don't think anyone buys this rifle without expecting it to be heavy. I use it for long distance and suppressed with subsonic .308 to impress the folks at the range. Doesn't seem worth it to go medium contour, but that is just based on what I've heard. |
