Come across what i assume is a lr308 stripped upper as it's rounded like the AR15 upper in the rear, But all pictures I can find so far with a FA shows it to be up by the brass deflector and this ones in the rear like a AR15. Any idea on manufacturer
another question, does roughly 8.250" c/c sound right for the takedown and pivot hole |

Seems to be some kind of hybrid upper, the pin hole diameters and locations are of AR-10/AR-308 pattern...The forward assist is defiantly much
lower and further back than normal for a large frame AR upper receiver, the ejection port is of correct size it seems for a 308 AR...Hhhmmm. |

Thanks for the ID , didn't know that there were more then 2 styles in the .308 family Quoted:

Looks like it's a Bushmaster BAR-10 or RRA LAR-8 upper. Thanks for the ID , didn't know that there were more then 2 styles in the .308 family There are basically two styles with either rounded or angular cut uppers and lowers. Unfortunately with more and more companies making 308's, matching angles don't guarantee compatibility. |

Okay time to school me as from what I'm finding there are the slant cut AR10's, Rounded DPMS LR10's and Rounded RRA LAR10's , at least from what I'm seeing the RRA LAR10's are a bit longer and the rear takedown lug is farther back then the DPMS |

There are hardly any parts that are compatible with the DPMS rifle. |

Looks like BAR-10 or LAR-8 upper to me. Does the charge handle have a standard latch, or a large detent in the center underneath the back of the rail?
That will ID it as BAR-10 or LAR-8 right away. The BAR-10 has a central spring-powered detent that looks like a flattened cone. The LAR-8 has a regular latch. It's definitely not an LR-308 upper, and not compatible with any lower receiver other than LAR-8 or the BAR-10. |

it's a BAR10, lwbyo1 got me lined in on that the other day, now I'm trying to find out if the barrel nut threads are the same as the LAR10 as a post I came across while searching alludes to them being different nut. Wish it was a DPMS style as there is a good deal to be had on them but now not sure if worth messing with |
