I am considering purchasing a .300 BO SBR. I am trying to decide between the AAC MPW 9" or the PWS 12.75". I have searched the net and read great things about both guns. I like the idea of the piston from PWS as I plan to suppress it. However, the 12.75" barrel is hardly an SBR to me. I know the PWS is slightly more expensive too. Can anyone with experience chime in with opinions?

| There is no need for a piston with 300 BLK. I shoot my 8" Noveske suppressed no matter what I'm sending downrange, and though it is smokey, it runs like a top with subs or supers. If you're going to go short with 300 BLK 9" is the max I'd go. AAC is my vote between these choices. |

I also suggest the 9"- never heard a complaint about 300 AAC with shorter barrels. Especially if you're going to add a can.
You may want to look around at 300blktalk.com- I've seen some discussion there about problems running subsonic ammo with piston gas systems. FWIW I love my AAC 9" upper- never had a problem with it. |

yea definitely made the right choice (I made the same one 2 weeks ago haha, have a MPW 9" on layaway right now). PWS does make a really good kit but they should definitely offer a 8" 300 BLK option if they want to actually compete in the 300blk market. they'd do really well with that I'd think.
although I have to say, when noveske starts coming back in stock I'm likely to get a 8.2" build going with one of their barrels. shorter the better imo. |
