I am tired of waiting on an 8.5" Noveske, and see that some places have the 9" AAC upper in stock.

First question is price.  They all list the same price.  I am hoping that AAC has set a MAP (minimum advertised price), and that I can get one for less.  Is that a possibility, or is that just the price everyone is selling for?  If so, I will pick vendor based on shipping cost and best customer service reputation.

Second question is KAC URX.  It is not a standard quad rail.  Is it a hassle to mount things to?  I am staring off with a pistol build while awaiting the stamp, so I won't be mounting a foregrip yet, but definitely a light, and maybe and AFG or handstops.

Thanks

My first pistol has a factory AAC 9 inch upper. I bought it right before panic time for a great deal new.

It runs like a top, very good quality. The URX is very nice. I used Magpul rails to attach AFG.

Great news on the rails.  I did not want to be limited to the Knight's accessory kit, or some proprietary attachment system.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy from a reputable dealer at lower than MAP?  For example Surefire dealers will sell for less than the MAP, but won't list that anywhere.

MAP is only a restriction on what price dealers can advertise an item for.

1.  Everything is negotiable.

2.  Some manufacturers have policies that give them the right to de-authorize dealers who sell below a minimum price.

3.  Dealers often discount package deals to get around that.

Example, we sell some mid-range TV studio gear from one manufacturer that requires us to sell at MSRP.  If another dealer undercuts us by selling for less, and we report them, they will lose their dealership.  Generally, this $15K-$50K piece of gear isn't sold without training, extended warranties, other equipment, etc.  The dealers are free to discount those items as much as they want.

So, if you went to a dealer and asked him for a steep discount on say, a URX rail if you also bought an AAC upper, you might get the price you're looking for on the upper.

I got my 9" AAC upper by calling SlencerShop.com and asking them to put me on a 'will call' list when they got one in stock.  It worked like a charm-- this place gets AAC inventory more frequently than any other shop I could find. Also they offer fair prices and are super responsive.

The URX rail system may not be what you're used to seeing but it is built with functionality in mind- the idea behind it is to only provide rail where you need it. . I have not had any problems mounting accessories to it and the smoother front handgrip surface was a little weird at first but after a little trigger time it's comfortable.
I love my AAC upper- it is very high quality and runs better than any other upper I've used. I don't think you could be disappointed with it.
