Local guy is selling a 6.8 SPC AR variant and I am searching for info about the value of the rifle. Specs as follows:
Noveske Upper Noveske Gen I lower WOA Match barrel (not sure on length but it looks like an 18") Smith Vortex flash hider Vltor stock BCM BCG JP Trigger and springs MI rail Leupold VX1 3-9 scope Owner says he was about 100 rounds through it. looks to be in great shape and well build. What is the rifle worth? |

Some more specs you might want to consider are if it has a Spec II chamber and the twist rate. 1 in 11 is better than the faster twists I believe is the current consensus. The value? Hmm... Also, have you checked in over at the WY hometown forum? Need all the help we can get over there. |

How much is he asking? I would say ~$1500-$2000 (but some will say too low). I'm not a fan of someone's homebuild. Scope is $300+? Noveske sometimes is overvalued. He was asking $1500 about a month ago and is down to $1100. Not sure why it hasn't sold. I am questionable about the home build myself but I think for $1000 its a steal with the parts used. |

I think the average joe habib doesn't want a 6.8 (and doesn't know) plus as I stated, the lower end Noveske stuff doesn't make me wet my pants like many desk rifle jockeys. I have full respect for Noveske, but compare a NEW $1600 low end Noveske to the same Daniel Defense at $1400-$1500, I'll take the DD any day. How old is the barrel? Is it a true 6.8SPC II? |

If it is an SPCII chamber (Noveske Mod1?), then offer $1000. You would be able to resell for that. If the scope is worth $300, then you would only have $700 in the rifle. It's a White Oak Armament barrel. Chances are better than very good that it's a SPC II chamber. |
| Well I contacted the owner and made a deal to meet up on Wednesday for $1100. He called me back an hour later and conveniently his wife sold it to her boss today and he hadn't talked to her about it and feels bad but there is nothing he can do. Glad it didn't work out, guy turned out to be a tool. |
