I have a DPMS LR-308 that i have been shooting for a few years(first gun i got when i was 18). I am an engineering student nearing graduation and decided i wanted to design a suppressor for my 308. I got my Form 1 back about 3 months ago. I decided that i wanted to build a new upper instead of replacing the factory barrel and i am currently just getting materials and components for the upper and suppressor slowly as i can afford to. Also i want to make it a side-cocking upper.
Currently I have the materials for the suppressor, but am holding off until i get the gun built. the suppressor design can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B93HqBsSfCQnZEUzM3E4QUdLbEU/edit?usp=sharing it is a reflex type with cone baffels made from 316SS. As for the Upper, all i have so far is a Fulton Armory 22in threaded heavy barrel and all of the components that go into the Bolt Carrier. I have a JP enterprise adjustable gas block and a gas tube backordered currently. I am planning to buy a Fulton Armory Side cocking upper reciever and bolt carrier once i have the money. I was looking at a Troy Industries front rail(mainly because it has a quadrail and is cheaper than the DPMS SASS quadrail). Also, i dont have a bolt carrier key yet, i was looking at the titanium coated one on midway but it is currently sold out, any suggestions on that? Let me know what you think or if you have any recommendations on a different quadrail. Thanks, Austin |
