Hi all,

I recently purchased a DPMS LR-308. See attached picture.
LR-308

I would like to add a qual-rail to it such as this one.
Troy TRX .308 Extreme BattleRail

Can anyone tell me if I add this quad rail if I will also need to purchase a new gas block? If so, what type of gas block will I need?

It should but

$$. I got a gmg gm-1 qr1 for$26-28$ off amazon fits great and looks great. Still haven't gotten around to breaking in yet but..Also got a gas block from them 26$ size .750 for the ar15 NOT the .936. With the rail in both sides. Btw if your gonna change the gb do it before you start shooting as the carbon will make it a booger to take off.

I don't know what the hell the guy above me was trying to say, here's my answer

That rail you linked is a "carbine" length rail. As in it will fit up to a carbine length gas block.

The gun pictured appears to be a carbine length gun.

Looks good to go with your current gas block.

You would only need a new one, or a low profile one, if the rail was long enough to envelope the gas block

like the poster above me said. you'd only need a different gas block if you planned on getting a handguard longer than the one you have now.

Thanks! It is a carbine length rifle - 16" barrel.

This is a DPMS lr-308 with Troy Xtreme 15" rail. I had to mill the gas block down to make it fit under rail. If your using short rail it should work ok with stock block.
