I am wondering if anyone has built one of these? If so what setup did you purchase? I think this would be a great setup. Did you do anything different to your lower like a heavier buffer or just run the same lower as a normal AR15? Just trying to get something different before they try to take our guns

Thanks in advance

the only thing that is needed is the barrel . EVERY thing else is standard 223. (an exception may be a gas tube , I am using a 16 inch barrel with a pistol length gas system)

I use a lighter buffer because the standard buffer didnt function 100% of the time.

Stainless ar-stoner 1:8 twist 16in medium profile barrel
Fail-zero bcg
Spikes upper/lower
Yhm rifle length forend/low profile gas block
Standard buffer/spring
Moe stock/grip
palmetto lpk/di tube
aac 51t breakout

That's the way I build mine.  Took down a spike last night with it.

Thanks it runs rather well, its my favorite rifle right now.  I also forgot to add that I put in yellow jp spring set in it. 300 rds so far with zero failures on cci, remington primers and hornady factory rounds.

I've got a Noveske 10" that I'm running with the following:  Auto carrier, standard Brownells CS action spring, ST-T2 buffer.

So far I've only run supers through it as a pistol build and it runs perfect.  Need to get some subs to try and may change out the action spring to a standard weight Sprinco white spring.

I put one together using all off the shelf 5.56  parts, other than the barrel of course. Standard buffer, bolt, etc. Had the carbine length gas system. Runs 100% prefect. Oh, and I ever do my own ammo using 5.56 cases. I have a little production line set up....

See this is why I like this place. You guys are awesome!  That is awesome so I can get another stripped upper and then just switch with on and off with my 5.56 and I am set. Did anyone have any headspace issues with adding the barrel to a stripped lower?

I hope you meant adding a barrel to a new upper and not "lower."  As long as you use a new bolt with a new barrel from reputable manufacturers, I can't imagine that you'll have a problem.  I try to keep bolts and barrels in matched pairs if they've been shot more than 500 rounds or so.

Sorry I didnt explain myself fully. I meant that I would build a 300 Blackout Upper and just put it on my normal AR lower

That'll work just fine.

Here is my 10.5" 300 Blackout and my 10.5" 5.56 Upper.  Just pull a pin and slap it on the lower.  Lots of fun.

Built this blackout using a Sota arms 16 inch barrel, Surplus Arms upper, Yankee hill gas block under the handguards, Armalite clamp on A2 front sight base......PSA bolt carrier group.........

Killed a Doe a couple of weeks ago with this setup using Nosler 125 ballitstic tip and 18 grains of H110.......

Except for the barrel, all standard parts.

Changed my mind, went with longer handguard.
