But if you're going to go with the color case hardened receivers, wouldn't you go with an octagon barrel, too

For giggles, I ran our design program and changes the materials from aluminum to steel. The weight of the stripped upper receiver goes from .80# to 2.78#. That beasty is gonna be heavy.

That is one ugly rifle. Somewhat of a decent concept, terrible execution. A longer handguard would have balanced the look more and a matching steel trigger guard would make more sense than a plastic MOE.
