I've decided to try and do something different, but I'm not sure what to try next.  I've built 3 different AR's with the 4th in process and I'm thinking about what to do for the 5th.  Some might call it an addiction.

I've got a 16" M4 style in 5.56, a 7.5" 9mm pistol (eventually an SBR), an 11.5" 7.62x39mm pistol in process (eventually an SBR) and finally a 20" Bull Barreled 5.56 with a Magpul PRS stock.  I've decided the Bull Barreled AR doesn't get shot enough and I think it might be time to swap it out for something else.  I'm just not sure what I should go with next.

I don't really hunt so I don't need anything in particular.  I just like getting out to the range and shooting.  Give me your thoughts.

It sounds like you have BRD (Black Rifle Disease). You have to many to chose from. I would go with the 6.5 Grendel or the .50 Beowulf. Just wait until you have all 12 of them and wanting more.

I have the Beowulf and love it. That said from a practical standpoint a 22lr would be a wise choice.

I would look at doing a .22LR if you are wanting a plinker. Super cheap to shoot and fun. My 22 gets passed around at the range and everybody likes to shoot it! If you are not too concerned about ammunition costs do a big bore. I've been looking at them myself!

22lr, 6.5, 6.8.

Or if your ready to step off into the 'next big caliber' platform, 308!!  My reg 556 ARs rarely get range play time between my 22 and my 308!

Pretty sure I'm going to do a Grendel upper next.

I do have a .22 conversion kit.  Thought about building a dedicated upper for it.  I am planning on stepping up to a .308 at some point, but since I'm planning on keeping my lower and just selling/trading the bull barreled upper, I need to figure out something to put on it.  .300 blackout is tempting since I have a Gemtech Can on the way for my 9mm that is compatable with that round.  Just not sure that I want to go that route since barrels are still hard to find and pretty expensive.  I've been leaning towards 6.8 or 6.5 at this point for a longer range shooter.  .458 SOCOM would be cool since its finally been added as an acceptable hunting round for Indiana, but I don't do much hunting as of now.

6.8 or 6.5, if you want the most of out a AR15. A .22 would be cool but I have a 10/22 and M&P22 for that.

Yeah, I have a 10/22, Model 60, plus a 22 conversion I can throw in my 5.56 so I'll probably wait on the dedicated .22 upper.  I've alway wanted to do a .308 so I may see if I can get started on that.  I guess there is nothing wrong with the extra lower sitting in the safe waiting to become a host for something else.  If I can find a deal on a .300 Black barrel I might join the trend since my Gemtech Can is supposed to work well with it.
