hey guys, been shooting rifles all of my life...just new to the AR world.  I am looking at getting an "AR" in a .308 and had some choices.  here are some that I have picked out and the prices that I can get them locally at:

$1340

$1170

$990

A4-$1120

which would be more accurate out of the box? better quality for the money? more parts interchangeable? ive been reading and im pretty sure that I have read that the LAR doesnt have the parts support as much as an AR does? ill keep reading, but figured id post this to maybe get some insight considering the prices.

Thanks!!!

thanks.  I just wasnt sure if the armalites can be swapped for parts, i know that they use special magazines.

The bushy comes with some magpul parts too, but I read a thread that the bolts get gnarled up in the wrong spot on those.

id like a colt, but they seem to only have one .308 and its impossible to get a hold of.

which one of these would be the most accurate and about how far will it be accurate? i see the MOAs, but im lookin for first hand experience...

Having owned 5 of these, and had a lot of experience with the RRA guns as well, I like the Armalite guns for fit, feel, quality, and accuracy consistency.

Sometimes you get a DPMS gun that shoots .25 MOA by chance, but it is more likely to get one that shoots 1.5 MOA, like the 3 DPMS LR-308/260's that I have purchased, then sold.

My first AR-10 was an Armalite/Eagle AR-10T that shot 1/3 MOA out of the box, with a factory trigger.  I wish I had kept it.

The RRA guns have good fit, feel, and finish, but you're dealing with a unique receiver, BCG, handguard, and data package specific to that rifle alone.

You can now get Armalite's that share magazine commonality with DPMS, Knight's, etc.  The AR-10A

If I were you, I would piece the gun together instead, that way you can have everything you want right off the bat.  Most production .308 AR10's are back-ordered.

Get your receivers, barrel, and BCG, then put what furniture you want on it.

thought about building one but ive yet to venture into the ar stuff to know EXACTLY what all I would need.   only time will let me do that.  as far as the MOA, ya the armalites say that they are 2-2.5....that rating seems to be crazy high...

Get the Armalite. While the mags are different, you can get a deal from the factory. Way cheaper than real SR25 mags and built better. I use alot of MAGPUL products, I'm not totally sold on P-Mags. I wouldn't buy a rifle based on the cheapest mag avail The real AR10 is an excellent rifle. I also have each of the others

thanks for the input!!!

what if i wanted to "build" it up later? which one would have the most compatible parts? so pretty much, buy a good base and shoot it while i learn the gun and then take parts off and then replace with good parts?

I would start looking for one of the new Armalites that will take the DPMS/Knights/Magpul style mag.   This seems like the best of both worlds to me.
