Just wondering, what are the differences between a LPK from an AR15 and that of a AR10? From pics, it looks like the bolt release is different but what else? Is the trigger guard longer? I'm just looking to save a few bucks here and there and if I already have most of the lower parts already, that's a few bucks I can save and spend elsewhere on my project. Lastly, the Armalite 2 stage trigger looks the same as a RRA is it?

Thanks for any and all help.

The lower parts are identical except for the bolt catch.

I have a couple of the RRA 2 Stage National Match Triggers and they are a hell of a step up from a regular ol trigger group. I have no idea if they are the same as the Armalite though. A better brand like a Geissele trigger would be a significant improvement if you're looking for precision.

Use a Ar15 LPK without a trigger, order the 308 bolt catch separate. Will end up being cheaper, and you dont want to use the junk trigger group that comes with most kits. Spend a few more bucks on a good trigger, in the end we all end up using something other than the kit ones. Also of note, the 15 catch does work, there just significantly less surface area to catch the larger bolt.

The ArmaLite two stage is considerably different than the RRA two stage.  First the disconnector is wider and does not have the wear issues found with the RRA two stage disco.  Second, the ArmaLite disco has a three position spring to change the break weight of the second stage.

ArmaLite has a few tech notes on the web site on tuning the two stage triggers.

The ArmaLite two stage LPK is all I buy anymore.  Best deal around for $120 for the tactical two stage LPK.  The NM two stage cost more and was a different shape trigger.  You can tune both these to have incredibly nice triggers.

Bolt stop, bolt mag catch, take down and pivot pin are specific to the AR10, the rest of the parts are the same...

Edit: meant to say mag catch rather than bolt catch, my mistake...

The magazine catch is also different, but the mag button and spring are the same as AR15.
