All,
It's been a while since I've been on here and my searching skills appear to be broken. I have an RRA UTE2 upper and would like to add some magnification, unfortunately it looks like I would need something like a 45 degree off-set rail. Does anyone run magnified optics on a UTE2? Any suggestions? Thanks, Cory |
| This upper was designed to have the ruggedness of the A-2 upper with the ability to have a co witnessing red dot sight. The only options I see is using a short optic which will fit in front of the A-2 rear sight. Most of these short optics are intended to capture the ACOG in appearance. I've used one of these type scopes which was 3 X 9 with a lighted reticle. I think this type of scope might have enough eye relief to mount right in front of rear sight and this sight might still co witness with the iron sight. You wouldn't be able to see the front sight to use the iron sights unless you used the quick release to remove the optic. The only other option I see if you had a railed hand guard is to mount your red dot sight far enough forward to mount a magnifier to the rear. You could also swap out the upper for a true flat top upper. |
