I have read a lot of threads on the PRS stock. Some people love them and some hate 'em.
I am starting to think it depends on what style of shooting it is used for and what weapon it is on.
I have a DPMS LR308 SASS that I traded for a while ago. It came with a Magpul ACS stock. I have thought about getting a PRS to replace it but the articles I read on the forums have me confused about whether or not it would work for me. It seems a lot of the negatives come from the cheek piece being too far back.
Most of my shooting will be prone- occasionally from a bench but mostly prone using a bipod. I have a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 on an LT-104 mount on it now. Should the stock work for that application?
This rifle comes from DPMS with a PRS on it, so I am hoping I am safe assuming it works, but that is a decent amount of money to spend blind.
I don't have anyone close who has one, especially on this rifle, so I can't try it first.

Who here has a PRS on a similar rifle and shoots prone? Does it work well in that position?
Those who have it and don't like it, do you mainly shoot offhand or a position other than prone?

Love my PRS.

What do you have it on and in what position do you shoot?

I suppose it just depends on where you like your head, and how much eye relief you have.
I have two rifles with the PRS, a DPMS REPR with a 24in bull bbl, and a DPMS SASS with the 18in bull.
I shoot everything from prone off the bi-pod to off hand at running deer.
the cheek weld has never been an issue with me.  if your one of those "nose to the charging handle" guys it prolly wouldnt work tho.

I will say that the PRS nicely balances the heavy bull bbls makeing it easier to shoot off hand.

Vortex lists the eye relief as being from 3.1- 3.3 inches. I have it on the LT-104 mount and will have to pull it out to see where that mount puts the scope.
I use the NTCH position when using iron sights on my AR15, but not so much using a scope.

What scope and mount are you using?

Nikon Monarch 4-16x50. belive they are on med rings with a 1/2in riser on both rifles.
group pic, but its all i have at the moment with a profile view of the two rifles.
(The SASS just had a BSA on it for the pic here and some quick shooting when i bought the rifle.)
my cheek is forward on the rest to be sure, but still well on it.
