I have gotten a 6.5 upper and my dad got one as well.  He actually ordered a kit and they didn't send all the parts with the first order, it took 2 weeks to get them all.  They both shoot great, and I recommend Model 1.

I've done a few builds with their stuff, all came out ok and functioned well.

The only thing that pisses me off is they are 30 minutes from my house, but won't sell over the counter, they will only ship to me.

I bought 2 rifle kits from them, AR-15 and 300BLK.  I bought receiver separately from local store. The good things are the reasonable price, the good options, quick delivery, and good performance for a given price. I like them.

Be aware of the problems they had last year with some credit card fraud. There were people reporting fraudulent charges to their CC's after using them at Model 1. I personally have not had any problems and I used my CC there.

I've used a couple of their barrels in builds and they all turned out well.

Stay away from their 6.8SPC offering.  It is the wrong chamber (SPC1) and barrel twist.(1 in 9.5").

I've got a 5.56 upper kit that has worked well. For the price you can't really go wrong with them. Trigger is a stock mil spec and is pretty bad but I expected that at this price level.

The credit card problems were not Model One but whoever they used to process internet sales. Those that did phone orders were not affected. If you are worried about it do the order over the phone.
