Remington makes one, as does Armalite.  The Remington would be the one I would choose.

Armalite for me.  They also had a 338 Federal.  But Honestly, if you want a flat shooting AR.  You might want to look at the 260 Remington Armalite.

I built mine as a .260 with a Blackhole Weaponry barrel and a Mega MATEN receiver set and its pretty sweet, heavy for hunting though. The only downside is a scarcity of factory ammo so if you don't reload or don't want to start reloading, skip the .260.

DPMS or Armalite would be my choices for an off the shelf .243, but keep in mind either one will be a heavy rifle to be trudging through the woods with. If your friend is going to build a rifle for you then I would suggest a blackhole weaponry barrel, very good performance and very reasonably priced.

Thanks guys.

I am scouting for him since Im the resident AR guy at work. I just have never messed with the AR10 platform.

The way he talked he does intent on deer hunting with it so Ill make him aware of the weight.

Your right about the 243 availability.  Its definitely off the self at the local Wallys.  Bass Pro and Cabelas does have factory 260 off the shelf but its pricey.  I personally size 308 and 243 cases to 260.  Its easier doing 243 however.  Never had a doughnut yet.
