I am looking to start a lefty AR build with either 6.5 Grendel or 6.8mm. I have a few questions for the more experienced builders.

Can I make any lower (striped) receiver ambidextrous?

Is there a decent lefty or ambi upper out there?

will the price of 6.8mm SPC ever go down?

6.5 is a fairly affordable round, why isn't there more choices in AR (6.5) parts?

Thanks

You can NOT make lowers ambidextrous.

The mag release and bolt catch are nonreversible.
The safety selector will not function properly if you simply insert it from the right side - you will need a special-made ambi/lefty safety.
Fire control and all other parts are already ambidextrous.

You can buy an aftermarket ambi- mag release and safety selector and you'll be fine.

I have no experience with lefty uppers, and I only know of the DPMS one.  Their products are perfectly functional, but not premium by any means.

But I've fired plenty of ARs in multiple chamberings from my left shoulder.  I've never had a problem.  If you have a brass deflector on the upper, you'll be fine.  If you're really worried about it, you can get one of those bolt-on sheet metal deflectors for cheap.
