| Looking for a A3 upper in 762x39. Would perfer 18" or 20". Got any leads? |
Thanks MMcfpd. I'll call them both tomorrow to see if they have anything in stock. What i'm finding is that everyone has them listed on their websites but they don't have any in stock. I've been working with AR15Broker.com but they have been lying to me for 3 weeks. I was suppose to have a barrel 2 weeks ago but they can't understand why the drop-shipper is not sending it.

Gladly did business elsewhere. |

Not to hijack, but who makes the best 7.62X39 upper? Only having used barrels (i.e., assembled my own uppers), I'd rank the ones I've used in the following order AR Performance, Model 1, ArmaLite, Bushmaster. That being said any one of those can be the basis for a good rifle. Others that seem to get positive nods, but with which I have no experience, are J&T (Doublestar) and Yankee Hill. With the AR Performance I used one of their bolts; with the others my preferred setup is an LMT bolt with a Model 1 firing pin. |

I've used Delton and M1S barrels. My 10.5" upper runs a DTI barrel that was 16" and put on a CNC lathe a friend of mine used to get concentric to bore threading for me. I have run it suppressed and found it to be an excellent performer.
I wish ARP had barrels and bolts again––-I'd get one of theirs in a heartbeat, if it were a carbine gas length. |

My YHM upper runs like a raped ape and loves Russian steel cased ammo. To say I'm happy with it is an understatement. It has totally sold me on 7.62x39 ARs. I very recently purchased an Armalite 7.62x39 (complete rifle) and am anxious to put it through the paces. I have a bunch of left over accessories from other rifles that I will use on this rifle, so it will be a budget rifle of sorts. |

The mid gas system they use allows more time for the steel cases to contract making extraction easier which helps make the extractors last longer...one of the main issues with the 7.62x39. The Melonite treated barrels also have a slick surface in the chamber. |

Said they would check on a different barrel and call me back in 5 minutes. Never got the call. I even asked if they had a BCG in 7.62x39 in stock which they said they had and would call back in 5 minutes. Never got the call. I just called them and told them to stick it up their a–– and I was going elsewhere to to make the purchase. -1 for AR15Broker.com. |

Mdway has the DPMS bolts and the Olympic bolts available, and all you need is a standard carrier. |

The Melonite treated barrels also have a slick surface in the chamber. I haven't run the first steel case through my 10.5" but have run thousands of brass cased through it without issue. Why buy steel case when Yugo milsurp is less than $0.20rd in quantities of 1000 or more? Yes its mildly corrosive, but there are plenty of ways to clean. I've seen too many stuck cases to ever shoot steel through any of my weapons. |

try J&T Double Star. A buddy of mine got a 20" chrome lined built there back in the hype days right b4 the elections. Shoots real good and will digest about anything. It's a .310 bore if I remember right because he asked me about reloading for it. good luck! |
