Thought I'd show you guys what I did to my budget .308
Started life as a standard BM ORC and this is what it ended up with:
Troy TRX 12" Rail
Troy low pro gas block
Troy Flip Up Sights
Magpul ACS Stock with Enhanced Butt Pad
Magpul AFG
Ergo Grip
Couple things left to go. I'll eventually get the ACC SDN-6 can so a 58t QD flash hider will be added but I may put a Troy Medieval on until then as I was impressed with the one I put on my AR. I have a Blue Force Sling for it but I just need to go down and pick up a QD pic mount for it. I'm contemplating a Aimpoint Patrol red dot but I also have plans for a 12.5" piston .308 and if I get that the Aimpoint will most likely go on it.
The one major change that needs to be made is the trigger as it is awful so I'll most likely install a Geissele trigger.
So far best groups I have gotten have been 2" but I attribute part of that might be the trigger. Not that these are known for being the most accurate but it should help. I ran it without cleaning it for about 300 rounds and yesterday was my first FTF and so far that has been the only malfunction. I have used everything from PMC, UMC, match reloads, and the majority being Mag-Tech which was also round that FTF. The Mag-Tech uses a lacquer coating so the chamber might be a bit dirty which was the reason for the malfunction possibly but it still managed to fire 40 more rounds after that without an issue.
I almost went with the UBR stock but decided against it and I went with the ACS. I think that was a good choice as it provides a nice cheek weld and balances the rifle nicely. With the above parts and an empty P-Mag the rifle weighs in at 9.6lbs
So far I'd have no problems suggesting one of these for the budget minded crowd looking for a .308 AR.
And for your viewing pleasure:

Does Bushmaster build these themselves or are they DPMS rifles? They are both owned under the same umbrella.
