You can use a sten block or a colt block, what type of magazines do you want to use?

Which ever mags are cheaper, thats what I'll go with. I got a POF lower thats been laying around for 2 yrs and a ton of 40 cal ammo.Thats my inspiration for the build. What companies sell the mag well block?  I've been googling it and searching GB-but no luck.

thanks

Just a couple more questions. Does the 9mm block also handle 40cal? Also which block is better a top or bottom loading block or is there something better?

Thanks

RRA is making .40 ARs. A while back  I asked them on their industry page about what block or if they were a dedicated lower. From memory I think I was told that a 9mm block could be used for a .40 rifle and take the mags with 40. You may also want to see what price you can find 40 RRA mags for.

Yes the 9mm block works fine for the 40, you will use the 9mm maga also but may need to tweak them to feed the 40 better. As for top or bottom block bothe work well, my sten block is a top load so it can not fall out. I have seen and shot others that were bottom load and they were fine no issues.
