| Got a new rra std 7.62 from santa. Having problem with @ every 3rd round catching on the side of casing instead of loading in chamber. Called rra and they said try diff ammo but I dont think this is problem with ammo I am thinking the fal mag is. Anybody had problems with this. Going too shot in 1 week would like too know so I can discuss with them there. |
| Sounds like a Mag. problem to me....get ahold of another/several FAL magazines and re-try....if its the magazine have RRA send you a new one. I've got about 6 or so mags for mine and all work fine.....Suggest that once you get it right, only load 19 vice 20 rounds as I've found that the spring gets awfully tight with the the 20th round. I have a new RRA Standard A-4, 20" barrel. I've only had it to the range once and only have the one mag that came with the rifle. Based on how well my rifle functions, I have no doubts that your issues are mag. related.
I haven't tried firing with a full 20 rounds in the mag, however. I do love mine so far. Stick with it and I'm sure you will too. |

Mine was jamming in a few different ways when I got it. Sent it back to RR. When it returned, it was WAY better, but not perfect. I had five mags. The one that came with it worked best, but not always. I disassembled all the mags. I noticed five different length mag springs. I stretched them all, to two inches longer than the longest one was. No more jamming since.

| One problem that I had with four different RRA LAR-8 uppers recently was that some sharp edges on the barrel extension lugs were catching/scoring the rounds as they were feeding out of the FAL mags and getting caught in-transit before loading in the chamber. I sent all of the uppers back to RRA and they quickly fixed the problem by buffing the feed ramps a bit and softening the hard edges, especially on the center lug that doubles as the feed ramp. To ascertain if this is happening on yours, load a few fresh rounds into the chamber (with the safety on and the barrel pointing in a safe direction). Examine the bullet sections closely afterwards. If they are all scratched up and/or scored, this might be your problem. |
