Finished putting the 18'' Black Hole Weaponry barreled upper together, scope mounted, ready to rock.

So I hit the basement to roll some ammo, I have not used my rock chucker in 6 or 7 years, pulled it out of the cabinet, looks perfect, wipe off the dust, clamp on work bench, get out all the rest of the paraphernalia, grab my RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure, and it is froze up, will not budge. Now it is sitting in garage soaking in PB blaster..

It is killing me, I had a couple hours free in the morning to shoot and work on some loads, instead of shooting tomorrow I will be cleaning up the powder measure trying to get it working.

Here piggy, piggy, piggy.

Thinking of building a upper with a Black Hole barrel.

How long of a wait did you have?

It was on my porch four days after I ordered it. It must have shipped out the day I ordered it. It took me longer to get the rest of the parts, and one of the suppliers was in my state.

Yeh, curious about the Black Hole Weaponry barrels.  I was considering them for doing some 6.5G/264LBC builds.  I talked to the guy on the phone too.  SOunds like they use the 9310 bolts for the 264LBC which is good.  Definitely would like any opinions of their barrels.  Decent price but this guy is SERIOUS about his quality.

I researched BHW before I order it, everybody I talked to was very impressed with them. One of the guys that I talked to, said that when he was testing loads, he never had any loads that were over 1 moa,  and the load he settled on was 1/2 moa or better.

Carl knows his stuff, If I am not mistaken he has been building guns for over thirty years. They also stand behind their products 100%.

The 6.5 has always been my favorite bullet, the 6.5G/264LBC may be my next build, it is hard to beat 6.5 bullet, great BC, retains energy for hard kits at long ranges.

I may build my wife a 6.5 TCU, Black Hole will build the barrel if I can get a hold of a set of reamers.

I live in a house full of enablers, they all want their own AR, so I HAVE to build two more. They are not helping me with my AR addiction.

1-W, I'll check see what a set of new 6.5 TCU reamers are right now w/ the go/no gages...I sent back the SSK MPC Upper today...so its a wait and see on how long they take to fix the bug.

I too want to try BHW and will be considering a second 6.5mm AR-TCU...I like the fact that they use match grade Polygonal barrels and have a very good reputation.

1-W call me and we will talk about splitting the cost of the reamers/gages for the 6.5mm TCU...I have some new Idea's as well.

The 6X45 looks really sweet let us know with a full field report.

Good Luck.

Apparently balances scales can go bad, got the uniflow working, I was adjusting the uniflow for 23gr of H335 on my RCBS Model 505 powder scale, got it set, noticed that the powder in the tray did not look like 23gr, so I dumped a second charge in pan so I could weigh the double charge, it weighed 38.5gr WTF?  I took the scale apart, cleaned it, put it back together, re zeroed it, same thing, one charge weighs 23 gr, two weighs 38.5gr. Just for grins, I dumped the double charge is a case, and it fit, so it can't be 38.5gr either.

I guess one day I will be able to turn my expensive club into a rifle.

If you don't have a powder baffle in your powder thrower, the charge will vary according to how much powder is in the cylinder.

This is why I don't use a thrower & bought a RCBS Chargemaster. It makes life alot easier.

It is consistently dumping the same amount, but the scale is screwed up, tried it at least  ten times, 23gr for one, and 38.5gr for two

I purchased a used Ohaus scale similar to the RCBS 10-10.  I was concerned about how it worked so I got a set of test weights.  When it has not been used for a while, I check it with the weights.  By the way, RCBS should check/fix your scale to my understanding.   I do understand your concern and frustration not being able to try your new tool.

Good Luck and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks, I did not think of calling RCBS, I will call them tomorrow and see what they will do.

Talked to RCBS, they said send it back, and they would fix it, and send it back.

It is nice when a company stands behind their product.
