the finish chips realy easy. think they still cost more then a DPMS ( they are built by DPMS for REM)
i'd just get a DPMS

the only reason I could see to get a R-25 is if you wanted it in 7mm-08, it is the only caliber that DMPS doesn't offer that Remington does.

I have the R-25 in .243. It shoots real good! I'm very pleased with the rifle. Pics this afternoon.

I have one and it shoots great with 168gr Ballistic Tips but like said above the finish chips to easy.  If I were to do it again I would just buy a DPMS.

Nothing wrong with them, and they have a fairly light profile on the barrel for hunting. I like the camo finish and I'm glad to see them marketing ARs towards hunters, but like J75 said, the finish is not very durable. If you are OK with that, and you can find a good deal on one, then I'd say go for it.

I had one in .308.  Too heavy for my taste, and yes, they do chip a little on the easy side.  Accurate rifle though.  If im going to carry an auto .308 Ill carry my 16" AR10.  Lighter and for the ranges we shoot here I dont need the additional 4" of barrel.  I much prefer a 6.8spc for the deer around here though if im AR hunting.
