Long time lurker first time poster. I ordered a LM308MWS. Anyone else have one on order. Ryan at LMT said Mine ships out on 5-21-10. :) I haven't seen much on these here. |

I'm sure the wait is killing ya!
The British MOD seemed to like it enough to make it their new squad marksman rifle (beating out the HK417). I'm very curious to see the feedback from the front lines once these start getting into soldiers' hands. Personally I think an LMT .308 MRP with one of the upcomming 1-8x leupolds would be about the perfect jack-of-all-trades 0-800m rifle. |
| Yeah the wait is killing me I just want to get it and go out and shoot it. Not sure about the scope was thinking of getting the Bushnell Elite tactical 6500 4.5-30 and a Larue Lt-104. I am really curious to hear what the British soldiers have to say about them. |

I am curious why LMT did not make is a gas piston system instead of the DI
They already make it for the 5.56 so they know how to do it and would just need engineer it for the 7.62 I look forward to accuracy comparisons to the LaRue OBR as I plan to purchase one or the other but am leaning towards the MWS as it is less $$ and has a quad rail instead of short individual picatinny rail mounts that cost $50 a piece

Pistons were not as accurate. I did talk to thier engineer at the SHOT show. He said that a piston barrel and carrier would be available later. But no idea when. A 18 inch barrel like the British MOD should be the next available barrel. I have held and touched both and I like the MWS better. You could not go wrong with either. |

I want that one but it is not available now. 16" Chrome lined 1x11.25 twist is whats shipping now. |

AFAIK the L129A1 uses a 16" barrel: Comments from Greg Felton of LEI "...The L129A1 has a retractable stock and 16” black stainless barrel." |
