[ARCHIVED THREAD] - POF upper compatibility with DPMS upper- Please help

does anyone know if these stripped uppers are interchangeable? In other words, will the POF piston system, barrel nut, barrel extension, etc, work with a DPMS style upper?
BTW- I am talking about 308 and not 223.
I am really unhappy with the POF rail system, but I love the rest of my P-308. I want an upper that has the rail milled into the receiver and not bolted on. Mine came loose today while at the range.

Apparently the POF lower can accept an upper, but you need a small metal sleeve. Take a look at the FAQ's, that might shed some light: http://www.ak47.net/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=413443

I know that you can use a pof lower with DPMS uppers. That's not quite what I am asking. I want to replace the upper receiver on my POF, only the upper receiver.
I just don't know if the POF piston system will work with a DPMS upper receiver.

I don't see why it would not. I'm not sure if the thread is the correct pattern. However, the only thing that would be an issue is where the tube stopped. You would have to make sure it stopped before the gas plug so that you could manipulate it.
